SEO - Guide Help and Services

This search engine optimisation guide is primarily to help those who aim to DIY their SEO, the services for those who'd prefer some assistance.

The object of this guide is to show that SEO can in most cases be both simple and straightforward and by keeping to a few basic rules you can quite successfully do your own and achieve results that are as good as, if not better than many paid services.

There are risks involved though, particularly with Google SEO and the "better safe than sorry" rule should apply to anyone aiming for long-term SEO success.

 Guide Sections

This guide is divided into the following sections:

  • Optimising: images, keywords, links, meta tags, structure, title, content.
  • Promotion: directories, PPC, regionality, search engine spam, social media.
  • Linkage: internal links, incoming links, outgoing links, link schemes, link bait.
  • Seo resources: tutorials, newsletters, tools, forums.
  • Seo services: Website Promotion Report, The Google Audit, SEO Training.

 The Basic Rules

The basic rules this SEO guide advocates are:

     Promotion

In promoting this site we've kept to the guidelines suggested here and been very "conservative" in our linking pattern avoiding anything that had the potential to be seen as a "links scheme".

Despite the lack of active link acquisition the stability of the rankings obtained for our main keywords appear to underscore the contention that for most sites, chasing links is not the panacea it's often made out to be.

     Regionality

While the guide is non-regional in scope we've included some content such as how regional Googles compile their results, together with pages dealing specifically with Ireland such as the search engine optimisation scene here and the Irish internet marketing sector, while a couple of our SEO services are also regional, both the SEO training and the more specialised web design SEO training are specific to Ireland.

At the bottom of this page you'll find a Disclaimer, please take the time to read it.

We hope you find this SEO guide useful, if you don't there's quite a few more here, similarly if our SEO services don't quite fit your needs you might find someone more suitable on our SEO consultant page.

Either way we wish you the best of success with doing your own SEO!
